The World of Atha (Dungeons and Dragons 5e)

  • System: Dungeons and Dragons 5e
  • GameMaster: Ezekiel F.
  • Description:

I am planning on running a campaign for 4 to 9 players in 5e D&D. It will be an arcane setting in a world of my creation called Atha. I am looking for players with some (read any) experience but also would welcome new players to 5e.

Content and "rating" is subject to player choice but there WILL be content that could be upsetting to some players like violence, graphic description, and themes that might not sit well with individual worldviews.

Power gaming (in the form of optimization into a role) is encouraged, and it is expected that those who are better at it assist newer players in keeping their characters relevant skill wise.

Homebrew may or may not be allowed at the DMs discretion.

The campaign will likely meet every two weeks, and will occur if more than half of the players could attend.

Primordial Song

  • System: Dungeons and Dragons 5e via Discord
  • GameMaster: Sydney P.
  • Description:

It has been around 250 years since the Godswar, and the world is still fragmented. Regions are corrupted by undeath or demonic horror, monsters and fey lurk in the wilds, ancient beings are putting plots into motion, and mortal nations squabble over their petty problems as the average person just tries to survive. Not all is doom and gloom though. Empires are on the rise, new states are forming, and heroes are standing tall against the madness of this realm. Now where will you fall into place? Will you be heroes that seek to make the world a better place? Will you be villains that take advantage of the chaos of the realm to grow in power and wealth? Or will you simply try to win yourself an early retirement with the spoils from your endeavors? The choice is yours, future figures of legend.

Characters will start at low level, 1-3 (exact number to be decided in session zero). Homebrew is allowed if run by me first, unearthed arcana counts as homebrew. My setting has a heavy focus on mythology and folklore, so things that don't fit this flavor wise (like kalashtar or tortles) might not be allowed, but I'm flexible. I'm using the piety system from the Theros book, so your god of choice will actually give you benefits.

Come join the adventure as players will start at level 3 and the campaign will be dependent on the players choices in session 0. • GameMaster: Brenden B.
  • Description: Deep in the Mountains of Song to Gaia, lies the village called the Hymn of Howl, a place where traditions of the Garou are kept and peace is maintained. The creation of this village was to make sure that your species of being will continue to live on in the modern ages of humans. At the edge of the village lies a large mansion, abandoned for years and decay has taken its toll. This mansion has seen better days... or at least it may have been, that way, the Elder thought. Fearing this may have come with some evil intent the Elder Nyx sent scouts to investigate the strange manor. None of the scouts sent out had returned and Nyx had forbidden the exploration going near the mansion. Soon after life began to ebb away, wildlife slowly began to die and vegetation withered to nothing. A strange mist rolled out and covered the town, forcing the world that the mist has swallowed to change randomly into the Umbra. The mist hides many secrets, shadows moving about ripping into the structures and screams of the people piercing the night air. The only option to save the traditions and to force back this evil would be for the Elder to ask for help. Nyx called on the help of the Garou leader of the Fangs of Garm, Erebus Dragomiir. An envelope with the crest of the Fangs sigil stamped in the red wax is carried by you. The question is now do you open it?

The military crisis is expected to bring the Clans together even as it offers opportunities for dark domestic forces to take advantage of the situation. Beyond martial vulnerabilities Rokugan's culture and centuries-old traditions will also be threatened by the unfamiliar gaijin. Will the samurai of the Emerald Empire repel the foreign army, fight to the death trying, or yield and allow their values and way of life to be forever changed?
For the setting of Legend of the Five Rings imagine feudal pseudo-Japan + gender equality + magic, a kind of Asian-themed Game of Thrones with different Clans and a number of families within each, vying politically and militarily for preeminence. Play a warrior-samurai, a spell-caster priest, a socially manipulative courtier, an itinerant monk, or honorless Ronin scum. Every character is enmeshed in a complex hierarchy of status, a culture of honor, and a network of obligations and enemies. You have to learn to negotiate decorum, danger, your Clan's agenda, and your personal goals.

Where before the number of people with powers might be counted on one hand, now almost 1/3 of all youth are "Supers". You are one such group of youths, raised by a mysterious man known as Baron Grey on the outskirts of "Zero City". He gathered you, perhaps orphaned by the loss of life that took place in the initial devastation, or in the chaos that ensued, or perhaps merely fearful of the powers awakening within you, and trained you to control them. What is true is that there is a thriving underworld, drug rings, smugglers, arms dealers, just about ever type of scum imaginable. You've been fighting the criminals in this city for a little while, but you can't seem to make much of a dent. You've heard two interesting rumors recently though, one is that all the crime in this city is financed by a figure known only as Pluton, the other is that someone new is moving in to take them down, probably to claim the city as their own.
