NOTE: this is meant only for notebooks and mobile phones, for other personal devices please check the next section for information.- Your Own Device(s)
Computer: We recommend the following minimums:
- An Intel i5 processor
- 8GB of Memory (RAM)
- 250 GB Solid State Hard Drive
- 13” screen
- A four-year warranty to ensure the laptop lasts for your academic career.
NOTE Chromebooks will NOT work with a majority of our services so we do not recommend them.
Gaming systems: If you wish to bring a gaming device (e.g. Playstation, Nintendo, or XBox) you can find information about how to set it up on the witt-air wireless on this page https://www.wittenberg.edu/administration/informationtechnology/wittenberg-campus-wireless#wittair
Printer: There are printers through out campus that are available for students to print to, including in the residence halls. Students are provided with a budget each semester to print from which should cover printing. So bringing a printer is not required. If you do decided to bring a printer, be aware that we do NOT allow wireless printers on campus, so you will want to consider one without wireless capabilities.
Other items: Some other items to consider bringing include a carrying case if you are bringing a notebook. A power strip with surge protection, as there a limited outlets in some places. An ethernet cable is handy, but with campus wireless you may not need one.
