MA in Education Accreditation

Requirements

Program Outcomes - outcomes are the expectations both the program and future principals believe should occur in the program. These outcomes have been recently revised to reflect beliefs of graduate faculty, practitioners, and current students.

Dispositions – The habits of professional action and moral commitments that underlie an educator’s performance (InTASC Model Core Teaching Standards, p. 6.) are assessed at the end of every course. These dispositions help both candidates and faculty address both strengths and weaknesses of future Educational Leaders. This document is currently under review and being updated.

Thesis: A culminating research project is part of the Masters's program. Candidates will research an area of interest, which must be approved by their advisor before beginning. A committee is formed to provide guidance to the candidate and their research.

Principal Licensure

Principal Licensure is a State of Ohio accredited program along with an approval from our National Accrediting body CAEP. As such, you are assured of program quality and that those completing are ready to successfully step into leadership roles in the Ohio K-12 system. Those who wish to work towards the principal licensure can do so as part of their MA in Education program or separately if a master's degree has already been achieved.

Program Quality Surveys

Graduate Course Reviews – every semester each course offered asks our graduate students to review the course content and the instructors assigned to the class. Below is the link to our graduate student reviews.

Ohio Reading Endorsement

This program is designed for licensed teachers who wish to add the Ohio Reading Endorsement to their current teaching license.

Ohio Teacher Leader Endorsement

This endorsement can be completed in one year and is open to any educator who has already completed a master’s degree in education.
