Elena Dahl received their MFA in Photography from the University of Florida in 2013. They have participated in artist residencies such as ACRE (Chicago) and Home Base Projects (Berlin,) and their projects have been shown in national and international exhibitions, including “Context 2018” at Filter Space in Chicago. Their work is in the permanent collection of the Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art in San Bernardino, CA.
They work with physically and digitally manipulated photographs, text and film to make queer historical revisions and speculative fictions. Approaching photography as a phenomenon through which the world discloses itself to us, they treat the medium as a marvelous process that can open up portals of liberation in the here and now.
