Accreditation & Recognition

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program in nursing at Wittenberg University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791. The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)—a nationally recognized accrediting agency for baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs—has granted accreditation to the baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Wittenberg University for 10 years, extending to December 31, 2031. The nursing program’s mission, guided by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice (2018), is to prepare students with a liberal arts education for baccalaureate generalist nursing practice, and to provide a foundation for graduate education.

The Accelerated BSN program is for individuals who have a non-nursing baccalaureate or higher degree. Students admitted to the program will have earned a non-nursing bachelor’s degree, completed four ABSN prerequisite courses as a condition of enrollment: Anatomy and Physiology, Statistics, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Students must meet all other Wittenberg graduation requirements to earn the BSN. Students in the program must maintain a minimum of a 2.5 GPA, receiving at least a C+ in the Nursing courses.
