Esports Ohio held the grand finals for the 2024 State Tournament this past weekend, and we have some exciting results to share!
Esports Ohio is a nonprofit Esports organization for students all over Ohio. They aim to empower students by giving them a place to thrive within the Esports community. Last Friday, Ohio teams came together in Akron to compete for the championship title.
Dublin Jerome won first place in the Valorant Championship. Also notable is Centerville’s second place title. The Centerville High School program is brand new this year, so a second-place finish is a major accomplishment. With Wittenberg’s team starting in the fall, we hope to follow Centerville’s example. After this weekend, we’re in a great position to do so. Esports Director Ryan Brown attended the finals to make connections with students and coaches, and there’s plenty of interest in the program!
Other wins include Worthington Kilbourne in Overwatch and Lima Shawnee in Rocket League. Congratulations to everyone who competed!
