Women’s History Month 2022

Several events being planned to honor women’s contributions

March means it’s time for Women's History Month, a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture, and society. Observed annually every March since 1987 in the United States, the month offers an opportunity for Wittenberg University organizations to come together to present numerous events.

“We are excited to have many cosponsors this year, and we look forward to engaging campus while celebrating women in history,” said Brooke Wagner, associate professor of sociology and director of Wittenberg’s Womyn’s Center. “Please view our calendar of events and share it with others. We have over 10 departments and student organizations contributing this year. There are many ways to celebrate, and we hope you join us in celebration.”

The Womyn’s Center is committed to building safe, inclusive, learning environments for all students, faculty, staff and the Springfield community regardless of one's gender, sexual orientation, nationality, age, race, class, ability status, or religion and advocates for gender-equity at the individual and systems level. Located on the first floor of the Joseph C. Shouvlin Center for Lifelong Learning in room 103, the Womyn’s Center welcomes students to drop by during open hours to watch TV, study on the couch, read from our feminist library, or bring a group and play one of the center’s many board games.
