The Pursuit of Style – J’Adore Paris will be the theme of the 63rd annual Scholarship Style Show, presented by the Wittenberg Guild on Saturday, May 18, in the Center Dining Room of the Benham-Pence Student Center at Wittenberg University.
The Pursuit of Style – J’Adore Paris is all about high fashion, the Parisian way. This year's show will feature summer fashions for women of all ages and sizes, courtesy of One-Eleven Fashion Boutique, WildFlower, Guild Gallery, and J. Jill. Mallia Salon and Day Spa will treat the models to professional hair and make-up for the show.
Chaired by Karen Shylo and Terri Belliveau, the event will begin with a social hour and silent auction starting at 10 a.m. followed by the brunch and style show at 11:30 a.m. Auction items were donated by members and friends of the guild as well as local businesses. Local volunteer models will showcase summer fashions. This year’s models include Adara Ackerson, Tiffany Brown, City Commissioner Joyce Chilton, Maureen Fagans, Mia Grimes, Debbie Hill, Mary Ellen Johnson, Judge Katrine Lancaster, Claire Linkhart, Sarah McPherson, Zac McPherson, Lemohang Mokhalinyane, and Elise Spriggs. This year’s emcee is Elaine Terrell. A highlight of the show is the announcement and awarding of the Elizabeth Woodhouse Award, which recognizes loyal commitment to the Guild over the years. This year’s recipient is Wittenberg alumnae, Alicia Sweet Hupp, Wittenberg class of 1982, who is a member of the Wittenberg Board of Directors.
"We are very excited for this year's Parisian-themed event,” Shylo said. “We're also thrilled to partner again with our local boutiques, and our dynamic group of models are ready to showcase the latest trends. We're looking forward to another incredible show."
The Wittenberg Guild is a women’s organization focused on promoting Wittenberg and utilizing its educational resources to enrich the local community, as well as awarding scholarships to students from Clark County who plan to attend the university. Through the years, the organization has raised more than $1 million in scholarship support, campus landscaping, sculptures and artwork for the student center, renovation of the Ann Miller Gallery in Koch Hall, and pianos for Krieg Hall.
Tickets sold in advance are $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Tickets sold at the show are $35 for adults and $18 for children 12 and under. Wittenberg faculty and staff members can attend for the reduced price of $25. Seating is limited to the first 250 people who register.
