When Rachel Tennison crossed the stage in Commencement Hollow on May 14 to receive her diploma from Interim Wittenberg University President Dick Helton, she capped a four-year collegiate experience that she will value for the rest of her life. A few days earlier, she had penned her final article for the Wittenberg edition of the student-run online publication, The Odyssey, in which she articulated many of the things she loves about Wittenberg.
Titled "Here's To You, Witt," Tennison's article starts simply: "Here's to you: the people I've met in my four years who have shaped me into the person I am today." It goes on to capture what makes Wittenberg so special to so many people - friendships, traditions, emotions, education, activities, and most of all, a sense of passion and purpose.
Tennison shared her photography talents with the campus community by contributing numerous images to the university's Instagram account during the 2015-16 school year. Many of those photos are included in a collage (right).
The article is a must-read - for prospective students who want to know more about Wittenberg, for current community members as a reminder of the importance of the work done every day on this historic campus, and for alumni who appreciate the impact a Wittenberg education had on them.
