Subject-specific statistics
UNICEF publications (including The State of the World's Children)GenderStats Data sources include national statistics, United Nations databases, and World Bank-conducted or funded surveys

Ethnic NewsWatch - Full text of newspaper, magazine, and journal articles from the ethnic, minority, and native press
GenderWatch - Full text of publications that focus on the impact of gender across a broad spectrum of subject areas. Includes both scholarly and popular sources.
Academic Search Complete Probably the best place to look for information on current events. Lots of full text.
Lexis-Nexis - Almost all full text.
JSTOR - A full text periodical backfile; includes 37 journals on sociology .
