Thinking about getting back in shape for the warmer temperatures? Think about participating in the 20th annual Wittenberg Triathlon, coming up on Saturday, April 13.
Open to the Wittenberg community including students, alumni, faculty, staff members, and their families, the Witt Tri is a fun and healthy way to connect with friends old and new.
“This is a fun event for new triathletes, especially, featuring a supportive and welcoming home audience to help motivate you through the course,” said Christian Raffensperger, organizer of the event and Wittenberg history professor. “There is still plenty of time to swim, bike, and run to get ready. Sign yourself up solo or gather a group of friends for a relay team and join us for this neat, non-competitive, community-building, annual event.”
Individuals and relay teams will compete in a half-mile swim (16 laps or 32 lengths), an approximately 13-mile bike ride out to the C.J. Brown Reservoir and back, then finish with a 3.1-mile run around the campus area. The entire event is staged from Wittenberg’s Health, Physical Education and Recreation (HPER) Center with swimming to take place in Wittenberg’s Natatorium and the bike ride and run starting and finishing just outside the building.
“The members of Witt Tri can also pair up in teams to complete the course,” Raffensperger said. “It’s a great way to connect friends within the Wittenberg community while enjoying the exercise and community building and a clean and noncompetitive activity that encourages growth in the Wittenberg community. You will be welcomed by a home audience and continually motivated throughout the course.”
There is no fee for registration. Registration closes April 1. Click the link below for more information regarding the Wittenberg triathlon at https://www.wittenberg.edu/administration/wittenberg-triathlon/wittenbe….
