Bingo, trivia, a comedic magician, Incredibles 2, and a carnival are all part of the fun events planned by Wittenberg’s Union Board for the annual Sibs Weekend, Feb. 1-3.
While siblings, cousins, and younger friends of Wittenberg students are always welcome on campus, this fun-filled weekend of entertainment and activities is dedicated to them. A weekend of programming open to all students, Sibs Weekend is also an opportunity for students to bring relatives to campus for bonding time and exposure to the college experience.
“I’m excited for all of it, but I’m especially excited for the way Sibs Weekend is evolving to be more inclusive of all of campus, not just if you brought a sibling. We have planned things that will be fun for all of campus,” said Abby Glass, Wittenberg class of 2021 from Signal Mountain, Tennessee, and vice president of programming for the Union Board. “On Friday night, we are going to have a magician who is really funny followed by a movie in Geil Lounge. On Saturday, we will have free ice skating at the Chiller, a carnival on campus, and bubble soccer.”
Sibs Weekend begins with check-in and registration from 4-5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the Benham-Pence Student Center. Other Friday events include a dessert reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m., magician Joseph Reohm from 7 to 8 p.m. followed by Bingo in Founders and the movie in Geil Lounge.
On Saturday, there will be campus tours, ice skating and broomball at the Chiller from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the carnival at the Student Center from 7 to 9:30 p.m. followed by bubble soccer. The carnival includes games, obstacle courses, rides, face-painting, balloon animals, and other games and activities. On Sunday, all are invited to join the service at Weaver Chapel, beginning with donuts at 10:30 a.m.
This event brings together Wittenberg students and their siblings, relatives or friends to engage in campus activities and to spend time on campus together.
