If you’ve been in the student center recently, you may have noticed something new. Renovations for our Esports arena are well underway. As we approach our goal of May 11, construction is right on track.
What was once an empty room has newly built half-walls and a fresh paint job to show off Wittenberg’s signature red. Now, instead of one room, our arena has an entryway for athletes to store belongings and get in the winning headspace. Behind the athletes’ arena is a lounge for players to relax and support their teammates when they’re not competing. Beyond the lounge’s TV and couches is an office for Esports director Ryan Brown, whose door is always open.
Even with the progress we’ve made, there’s a lot more to expect as we approach our grand opening in July. Soon the walls will be decorated with decals of the Esports logo (designed by MacRay) and our players will have brand-new equipment.
