Thank You!
Compassion, conviction, community, competition, and experience. These are just some of the words that describe the bond that is Tiger pride – the same pride that inspired our community last week on March 10 and 11. The infographic below shows Tiger pride in action during a very specific 1845 Minutes of Giving, but that's not where it ends.
Tigers are making the future for Wittenberg sustainable in many ways. Because of you, we raised $640,911! Thanks to the incredible generosity of Witt alumni, faculty, staff, retirees, students, parents, and friends, we paid homage to the People, the Place, and the Present that makes this beloved University one-of-a-kind. Thank you for sharing your Tiger pride and passing your light.
Together we can continue to help Wittenberg shine today. Learn more about how you can get involved with the Having Light Campaign, and make a difference in the lives of current students and in the future of Wittenberg University.
Having light we pass it on to others – and celebrate the shining successes we have accomplished together. Tiger Up!
Positioning Students for Success
With the goal of providing tangible, career-related outcomes through alumni, faculty/staff, and employer-led engagement and programming, the second-annual Career March Madness kicked off this past week. In addition to preparing resumes and professional headshots, students can participate in mock interview sessions and career discussions. In related news, Brittany House Conrad has joined Wittenberg as the new executive director of Career Engagement and Professional Development.
"Why You" Mock Interview Program
Alumni are invited to connect with students through the Career Services "Why You" Mock Interview Program, March 24-25. Alumni volunteers engage in virtual 30-minute interviews to help prepare students for their future internships and job searches. Alumni may sign up for as many interview sessions as desired and will receive scheduling information and a pre-event training video shortly after registering.
Excellence in Literary Arts
Andrew J. Graff, visiting assistant professor of English, has earned a 2022 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award in the fiction category for his debut novel Raft of Stars. The award will help fund Graff’s efforts to write his second novel currently under contact with Ecco-HarperCollins.
Dance, Stomp, Shake
In collaboration with Wittenberg, Clark State College, and the Springfield community, Wittenberg students Amya Brown '23 and Tristan Dietsch '24 gained valuable hands-on experience while working to put on the hit dance competition Dance, Stomp, Shake last month.
Empowering Writers
With a lifelong love of writing and several years of experience as a Writing Center advisor, Erika Jackson ’22 has become the first Wittenberg student to hold an office in a regional writing center association and formally represent undergraduate writing center advisors throughout the area.
