Events Committee
Co-Chairs: Student Senate Vice President
Purpose: To enhance communication between Student Senate and the Wittenberg University community, including administrators, faculty, and students, to gather and share opinions on relevant issues. To promote awareness of Student Senate activities and programs, overseeing the electoral process for Student Senators, and organizing diverse events such as W-Day to foster inclusivity and engagement on campus. To support efforts that encourage collaboration, student development, and appreciation for the diverse contributions of all university members through various events, including Senate-led town halls.
Finance Committee
Chair: Student Senate Treasurer
Purpose: To conduct hearings on the proposed budget requests of recognized student organizations throughout the year to take effect during the following academic year. To submit recommendations for annual organizational budgets for the following year to Student Senate by the twelfth week of the spring semester. To conduct periodic hearings on the proposed events and activity requests of recognized student organizations through the use of Tiger Fund and/or Build a Better Wittenberg (BABW) hearings to efficiently allocate funds to events that will impact campus.
Student Life Committee
Chair: Student Senate President
Purpose: To address students' concerns about campus and student life, enhancing Wittenberg University's spirit, and unifying students across various majors, organizations, and groups. To discuss and assist in planning campus-wide initiatives, and improving communication between students and administration regarding wellbeing. To engage in discussions on university academic programming, student/faculty relations, classroom and advising policies, and other educational policy topics. To discuss issues brought to the committee and make recommendations to relevant administrators or departments on policies or proposed plans.
